Electromechanical Characteristics Analysis under DSISC Fault in Synchronous Generators

نویسندگان

چکیده

This paper studies the electromechanical characteristics of synchronous generators under dynamic stator interturn short circuit (DSISC). First, air gap magnetic flux density (MFD) generator normal and DSISC fault was obtained. Then, expression for phase current electromagnetic torque (EMT) were After this, EMT analyzed by finite element analysis (FEA). Finally, measured CS-5 different conditions in accordance with theory simulation. It shown that occurrence, deterioration, DSISC, amplitude first harmonic, third harmonic fifth became more affected pulse. Meanwhile, even-numbered harmonics components increased.

Scalable fault models for diagnosis of synchronous generators

In this paper, we experiment with a small working model (SWM), where we can inject faults and learn the intelligence about the system, then scale up this fault models to monitor the condition of an actual/complex system, without injecting faults in the actual system. We refer to this approach as scalable fault models. We check the effectiveness of our approach using 3 kVA and 5 kVA synchronous ...

comparison of conventional salient-pole synchronous generators and permanent-magnet-assisted salient-pole synchronous generators based on finite element analysis

this paper presents a novel salient pole synchronous generator i.e. permanentmagnet-assisted salient-pole synchronous generator (pma-sgs). due to saturationof conventional synchronous generators (sgs), permanent-magnet-assisted salientpolesynchronous generators (pma-sgs) are presented. pma-sgs are a new type ofsalient-pole synchronous machines with extra permanent magnets (pms) betweenthe adjac...

Internal Fault Detection, Location, and Classification in Stator Winding of the Synchronous Generators Based on the Terminal Voltage Waveform

In this paper, a novel method is presented for detection and classification of the faultyphase/region in the stator winding of synchronous generators on the basis of the resulting harmoniccomponents that appear in the terminal voltage waveforms. Analytical results obtained through DecisionTree (DT) show that the internal faults are not only detectable but also they can be classified andthe rela...

Fault-Ride through Strategy for Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Generators in Variable-Speed Wind Turbines

Abstract: Currently, the electric power production by wind energy conversion systems (WECSs) has increased significantly. Consequently, wind turbine (WT) generators are requested to fulfill the grid code (GC) requirements stated by network operators. In case of grid faults/voltage dips, a mismatch between the generated active power from the wind generator and the active power delivered to the g...

Fault Current Characteristics of the DFIG under Asymmetrical Fault Conditions

During non-severe fault conditions, crowbar protection is not activated and the rotor windings of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) are excited by the AC/DC/AC converter. Meanwhile, under asymmetrical fault conditions, the electrical variables oscillate at twice the grid frequency in synchronous dq frame. In the engineering practice, notch filters are usually used to extract the positive ...
